Doggie Egg Hunt

Browse, learn, and play at this year’s Doggie Egg Hunt. Local pet related businesses will be showcasing their goods and services alike. Enjoy fun activities encouraging better health and the wellbeing of our pup population. Earn a chance to win a $50 Kwikstar gift card. Free microchipping will be offered by the Humane Society of Scott County and Quad City Animal Welfare Center. Catch a photo op with the Easter Bunny!

Note:

Event Rules:
o All dogs must be well-controlled on no longer than a 6ft leash. No retractable leashes, please.
o All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations.
o Bring your own basket to collect the treats your dog finds.
o Keep a safe distance between dogs while seeking treats to avoid a possible fight over treats.
o Remember this is a fun activity for you and your dog, NOT a competition!
o Cats are welcome attend the microchipping, but need to be in a carrier.

o Donations are encouraged for to go to the Humane Society of Scott County to help the lost and homeless pets of our community.

Rules:
o Use of off-leash area is at owner’s risk.
o Dog park area is open from sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.
o No use of tobacco or smoking products (City Code 12.72.095)
o The following items are not allowed: toys, treats, or chewables of any kind; remote control vehicles; bicycles; skateboards; roller skates; strollers/baby carriers; or prong/spike collars.
o Limit 3 dogs per owner/handler per visit.
o Always stay on-leash outside of designated off-leash boundaries (City Code 6.04.060).
o No animals other than dogs may be brought into the fenced area.
o Make sure all gates are closed properly when entering and exiting.
o Agility and obstacle equipment is for dog use only.
o Do not allow your dog to dig or cause destruction.

Dogs Must:
o Demonstrate appropriate social interaction skills.
o Be currently licensed, vaccinated and in good health and wearing a collar with ID tags at all times.
o Be over 4 months old.
o Be on a leash until safely inside off-leash area.
o Be altered (no dogs in heat or unaltered males).

Owners/Handlers Must:
o Be at least 16 years of age.
o Pick up and dispose of dogs’ waste (City Code 6.04.080).
o Be with dog(s) inside off-leash area at all times to supervise dog(s) and keep them within view.
o Carry a leash for EACH dog.
o Have voice control over dog(s).
o Leash and immediately remove dog(s) at first display of aggressive behavior toward people/other dogs.
o Accept responsibility for any damage or injury caused by dog(s).
o Closely supervise children under 12 years old.
